     Clasification of the materials according to their reaction to fire ин compliance with  БДС EN 13501-1. Includes a total number of groups 39, devided to 7 major classes.

    The major classes includes also an extra classification, which determines the smoke emissions and the emission of the hot drops (particles). 

The classes of the smoke emissions are s1, s2 s3, whrere s1 is the best.
The classes of the emission of hot drops (particles) are d0, d1, и d2, where d0 is the best. 

      The overall building structures and elements (doors, floors, walls) are tested  at full development of fire. The test account the fire resistant qualities at the following directions:

• R - Keeping the bearing capacity of the construction
• E - Integrity ( the ability of the construction to prevent passing of fire and hot gas)
• I - Isolation (the ability to reduce the heat transfer)

      The indicators for fire resistance are always combined with a time span expressed in minutes. The time range could be from 15 to 360 minutes during certain steps according to БДС EN 13501-2 steps.
